Model Making - Woven Stone Component

The process of model-making for this mould was started this past week. That being the woven stone fence I designed in Virtual Sculpture. Previous weeks were spent adjusting sketches of the components in Google Sketchup, then converting that with adjustments in order to produce a template drawing in Auto-CAD that would print at a 1:1 ratio. The pieces cut from this would be used to build up a pattern in Styrofoam.







Gorilla Glue was used and the piece was allowed to set a whole day. Then the rough edges were rasped off before Bondo was applied with fiberglass tape strips laid into it.
